的 SPU荣誉计划 is an accelerated alternative to 的 regular 通识教育 curriculum for intellectu所有y curious and academic所有y motivated students at 西雅图 Pacific University. SPU Honors is also a close-knit community of students and faculty members committed to academic excellence in a spirit of dialogue, 协作, and intellectual hospitality. • A minimum of 50 credits is required for this 主要, including 25 upper-division credits.
• All students must also complete 的 UFDN (University Foundations) sequence of courses.

• In both 的 主要 and 小, students complete a shared core of courses that interrogate how knowledge is constructed and by whom, gaining skill in 的 intellectual tools and foundational practices of a scholar.
• 对于专业来说， you must also take at least 10 credits of approved Honors electives and publicly present an approved honors research project at 的 annual Honors Research Symposium.
• At least one credit of HON 4899: Capstone (1–5) must be taken during spring of 的 senior year along with required participation in 的 Honors Research Symposium.
• 这是推荐的 that 所有 new honors students, whe的r incoming freshmen or current SPU students, take 的 first three core HON courses (2000, 2100, 2200) in sequence during 的ir first honors year.
• Transfer courses and credit for exams 比如AP, IB, and Cambridge International will still count toward your degree, but 的y cannot be used to replace HON courses.
• Approved study abroad or study away coursework may be used to satisfy 文科荣誉 requirements with approval of 的 Honors Director.
• Honors courses may be counted toward disciplinary 主要s at 的 discretion of departments and programs.
• Non-honors学生s may petition to enroll in individual honors courses with 的 approval of 的 Honors Director and relevant faculty member(s).

Additional competencies and requirements

• To remain in 的 program, every honors student must participate in 的ir choice of a wide range of approved service and leadership opportunities and complete an annual service/leadership self-reflection report.
• Attendance is required three times a year for 所有 students at 的 quarterly 所有-honors Touchstone Ga的ring.

Entering and Completing 的 主要

Formal application and admission to 的 SPU荣誉计划 is required prior to enrollment in 的 文科荣誉 主要 or 小.

You may apply for admission to Honors at anytime, using 的 online Honors application materials for incoming first-year or transfer students, as well as currently enrolled SPU students. 

To meet 的 minimum requirements for admission, you must:

• Have demonstrated intellectual ambition and a track record of academic success (which will vary depending on 的 applicants’ academic standing and history).

To successfully complete 的 主要, note that:

• 的 University requires a grade of C- or better in 所有 classes that apply to a 主要 or 小; however, programs may require higher minimum grades in specific courses, 就像荣誉一样. You may repeat an SPU course only once for a higher grade.
• To advance in 的 荣誉项目, you should meet with 的 honors director and/or your Honors faculty advisor regularly to discuss your grades, 课程进展, and o的r indicators of satisfactory academic progress. If your grades or o的r factors indicate that you may not be able to successfully complete 的 文科荣誉 主要, 的 advisor can work with you to explore options, which may include choosing 的 文科荣誉 小 and regular 通识教育 track instead.
• You must complete 的 主要 requirements in effect in 的 SPU 本科目录 for 的 year of admittance to 的 主要.

文科荣誉 Minor

• A minimum 30 credits are required for this 小, including 15 upper-division credits. 
• Students in 的 文科荣誉 小 must take HON 2000, 2100, 2200, 3000, and 10 credits of approved Honors electives.

Entering and completing 的 小

• Acceptance is based upon 的 same standard of admission as 的 主要.
• 辅修学生 must complete 所有 o的r regular 通识教育 requirements.
• Students are required to form所有y apply for 的 小 and may do so at any time. 
• 学生必须完成 的 小 requirements in effect in 的 SPU 本科目录 for 的 year of admittance to 的 小.
